About Cheryl

Self portraitLet’s share creativity!

It is exciting to exchange ideas. Don’t you agree?

There is a kind of thrilling charge that I get when I see another creative persons work and it sparks a new idea. My hope is something I share here clicks and sends that surge to you!

I am Cheryl. Learning, making, creating and sharing are the things I love to do.  I approach projects with a problem solving mindset and like to look for DIY solutions. When I figure something out, I feel like the best thing I can do with that new nugget is to – share it.

I am frugal – sometimes to a fault. My inner perfectionist and hoarder battle EVERY day. Typical Cheryl is where I hope to share the things I do, think and feel to strengthen self-acceptance for the good, bad and crazy in me… All while working to craft myself into the kinder, stronger, smarter person I want to become. The plan is that when you and I read what is here (whether it makes us smile or roll our eyes) that it can undoubtedly be classified as “Typical Cheryl.”

My thoughts and days are filled with parenting, cooking, photography and Cheryl-Belczakcrochet. I’m always up for trying a new creative pursuit. I also have a vested interest in cleaning, decluttering and organizing… Mostly just to get a system in place so I can spend less time doing that stuff!

Join me on this adventure! In time (with work) my dream is that this site will help me transition from a stay-at-home-mom to a work-from-home-mom and support my family financially. Please connect with me. My goal is to create a community where we can be inspired and share with people who feel the same.

I look forward to connecting with you!

  1. You are truly inspiring… I have been languishing here for such a long time… I used to enjoy creating in much the same way as you – crocheting, sewing, gardening, loving my family. Somehow things went awry. Now all that I do is photography. I do not feel empowered by it though. I just seem to do it as a way to survive. I absolutely love your images – especially your still life glass images. Thank you so much for sharing your incredible creativity!

    1. Brenda, thank you so much for your thoughtful comments. Thank you for visiting! You touched me and I feel like I can understand your state of mind right now because I have triumphant times and times when I struggle. Part of why I enjoy different creative pursuits is because when I get frustrated with one thing I switch gears as a diversion.
